一、周恩来班的标准

2014周恩来班创建工作方案

周恩来总理是中国也是世界公认的伟人。他少年留学日本、青年留学欧洲,将毕生精力都无私奉献给中国,他的精神永远激励着一代又一代的炎黄子孙,成为一批批远渡重洋的中国学子立志成才、报效祖国的楷模。周总理的足迹与我校中西教育结合、培养精英人才的办学理念高度一致。多年来我校一直坚持周恩来班的创建工作,是学校德育工作和校园文化建设的主线,贯穿于整个高中阶段德育工作和校园文化建设的始终。新一届周恩来班即将成立,随着学校的发展,周恩来班也承担着推广全校全英文工作的责任,因此周恩来班暨全英文班的创建活动必将在学生中产生积极而深远的影响,提升学校德育工作的层次,增强德育工作的实效性,推动国际校园、和谐校园建设的进程。为更好推进此项工作,特制定本方案。

1、正气、大气,有领袖气质;

2、尊敬师长,学习上进,成绩良好;

3、诚实守信,乐于助人;

4、积极参加社会实践,组织、参与学校各项文化活动;

5、合作意识强,有团队精神;

6、讲究个人和公共卫生,有环保意识;

7、模范遵守校纪校规,时时处处起表率作用;

8、对外代表学校形象,展现枫叶学子风采;

9、支持校园全英文建设,并且能够坚持在日常学习和生活中说英语,积极推广校园英语文化氛围。

 

 

 

二、周恩来班的创建

周恩来班的创建从高一年级正式开始。学生在高一年级要学习周恩来刻苦学习和立志报国的精神,尽快适应新课程的要求,树立远大的理想和抱负,多说、多用英文,学会合作,明确努力方向,勇于面对和积极解决学习和生活中出现的困难,逐步明确周恩来班的精神实质,创建周恩来班

4创建进程:

  20141月初公布创建周恩来班方案,大力宣传、贯彻创建目的、意义和办法;

  20143月中旬前完成创建周恩来班学生及老师意见、建议的征集;

  20144月初前以创建周恩来班为主题召开高一年级全体学生大会;

  20144月底前依照本学期学生综合评估结果推选出入选周恩来班大名单并通知相关学生;

  20145月底前公布入选周恩来班大名单并公开征求意见;

  20147月上旬正式确定周恩来班名单。

5入班要求:

入选周恩来班大名单的同学需达到如下要求:

  本人志愿加入周恩来班,愿意学习、弘扬恩来精神,支持学校全英文建设,爱国爱校,乐于付出,勇于承担社会责任,能为自己的成长目标持续努力;

  高一上学期期末和下学期(第三小学期)期中各科总平均分80%以上,没有不及格科目,英语单科成绩73分(B)以上,没有无故迟到、旷课等不良记录;

  个人综合考核月均95%以上,无违纪和处分记录。 

6、入选办法:

  符合条件的学生提交加入周恩来班申请书;

  中加方老师依照周恩来班标准对大名单进行评估,评估结果通知相关同学;

  公示入围同学名单接受全体同学监督;

  总领事处面试入围同学,并听取学生意见和建议;

  校委会讨论确定最后名单,正式组建高年级周恩来班(一个新的行政班)。

三、学校对周恩来班的要求和鼓励办法

入选周恩来班是该班同学一生的荣誉,学校各部门对这个班级应该严格要求,倍加关爱,为周恩来班同学提供各种展示和表现的机会。为了始终保持周恩来班形象,周恩来班荣誉周恩来班学生如有重大违纪行为,应调离该班,所空名额由其他班优秀生调入该班补充,调入的学生档案一并转入周恩来班。学校的期待和鼓励办法如下:

1、该班须始终保持周恩来班标准和形象;

2、学校要经常性地利用广播、报纸宣传该班的事迹;

3、安排该班在校级大型活动中承担一定的服务和接待工作;

4、有涉外活动时,安排该班学生代表全校学生出席;

5、学校每学期组织一次与周恩来班领事与学生的座谈会;

6、学校为该班学生颁发证书及进行必要的表彰;

       7、毕业时学校优先为周恩来班学生出具推荐信。

 

 

 

2014 WMLIS Zhou Enlai Class Establishment Plan
Former Premier Zhou Enlai was a great man and is recognized by both China and the world for his achievements.  In his youth he studied in Japan, and later in Europe. 
He was dedicated to China, and his spirit has inspired generations of Chinese people. He is a model for Chinese students who chose to study overseas and serve China.  
Zhou Enlai’s spirit is consistent with the Maple Leaf educational philosophy of blending the best of China and the West and cultivating the talents of China. For the 
past few years our school continued with the establishment of the Zhou Enlai Class, the main line of the school’s moral education and cultural development. With the 
school’s continued development, a new Zhou Enlai class is about to be set up. The new class will be an English-only homeroom, and will have an active and profound 
impact on the school. It will increase the level of school’s moral education, reinforce the effectiveness of moral education, and push forward the process of 
constructing an international and harmonious campus. The following plan has been designed to guide the establishment of the new class:

I. Members of the Zhou Enlai Class will:
  1. Have integrity, be open-minded and charismatic;
  2. Respect teachers and leaders, be self-motivated and maintain a positive academic performance;
  3. Be honest and helpful and keep to promises; 
  4. Actively participate in community involvement activities, organize and participate in school cultural events;
  5. Be cooperative and team-spirited;
  6. Care about personal and public sanitation, be environmentally conscious;
  7. Set an example for other students by complying with school rules and regulations, 
  8. Exhibit the best image of Maple Leaf students;
  9. Support the promotion of an English-only campus, be able to speak English in and outside of classes, and actively develop the English atmosphere.

II. Establishment process of the Zhou Enlai Class
  Establishment of Zhou Enlai Classes officially starts in Grade 10. G10 students should learn about the Zhou Enlai spirit and philosophy of studying hard and being
 committed  to their motherland, meet the new course requirements, have big dreams and ambitions, speak and write in English, learn to cooperate, have a definite plan, 
be courageous to face and deal with any problems in their studies and life.  Gradually grasping the essence of a Zhou Enlai Class and establishing the Zhou Enlai Class. 
   1. Subject: establishment of Zhou Enlai Class
   2. Person responsible: Deputy Counselor General
   3. Staff responsible: Grade 10 counselors
   4. Establishment procedures: 
  (1) Announce the Zhou Enlai Class establishment plan in January 2014. Promote the purpose, significance and methods of establishment;
  (2) Collect opinions from students and teachers regarding the establishment of the Zhou Enlai Class before mid-March;
  (3) Hold a G10 student assembly themed around the establishment of the Zhou Enlai Class in April 2014;
  (4) Generate an initial list of students who are eligible according to student comprehensive evaluation results before the end of April 2014;
  (5) Publish the list of candidates for the Zhou Enlai Class and collect remarks before the end of May 2014; 
  (6) Finalize the list of Zhou Enlai Class students before mid-July, 2014. 
   5. Qualifications for students: 
  Students who are enrolled in Zhou Enlai Class should fulfill the following requirements:
  (1) Student volunteers to join Zhou Enlai Class and is ready to learn about and carry forward the Zhou Enlai spirit, supports the promotion of an English-only campus, 
loves the school and their country, is dedicated and courageous enough to undertake the social responsibilities of the class, and is committed to his / her own goals; 
  (2) Student achieves an average of 80% or above in Term 2 and Term 3 with no failures, an English mark 73 % (B) or above, no unexcused lates or absences or other
 poor records;
  (3) Student with an average mark of 95% or above in individual comprehensive monthly evaluation, no disciplinary issues or punitive records. 
   6.  Selection Method:
  (1) Fill in the application form;
  (2) Chinese and Canadian teachers do student assessment according to the standard and assessment result that will be shared with relevant students; 
  (3) Publish the list of eligible students, who will be monitored by all the fellow students;
  (4) Counselor General’s Office will interview the students and collect opinions and suggestions regarding those students;
  (5) School Committee members will have a discussion and have final say in determination of the final list of Zhou Enlai Class students, which will form the official 
Grade 11 Zhou Enlai Class (a brand-new homeroom).

III. Requirements of the Zhou Enlai Class
  It’s an honor to be a part of Zhou Enlai Class. Each department should be strict with students in the Zhou Enlai Class, as well as be concerned about them and present
 them a variety of opportunities to exhibit their achievements and passions. To maintain the image of Zhou Enlai Class, if any student from Zhou Enlai Class or Honorary 
Zhou Enlai Class misbehaves, he or she will be removed from the class. Students from other homerooms who are eligible and excellent will be added to Zhou Enlai Class and 
his file will also be transferred. The school’s expectations of Zhou Enlai Class and methods of encouragement are as follows: 
  1. Stick to the standard and image of the Zhou Enlai Class;
  2. The school will promote the Zhou Enlai Class through broadcasting or newspapers;
  3. Arrange for Zhou Enlai Class to participate in hospitality work during school-scale events; 
  4. Act as representatives of all the Maple Leaf students when there is an outdoor event;
  5. One meeting with counselors and students of Zhou Enlai Class will be held each semester;
  6. The school will present certificates or other necessary honors to Zhou Enlai Class students;
  7. Zhou Enlai students have priority for obtaining reference letters from the school.
